I think I can beat that, 1984, Monterey-CA to Wisconsin Rapids-WI, 2500
miles in 48 hours, almost to the minute, SOLO. I drove the first stretch a
total of 22 hours, before taking a nap. Same deal on stops,
gas/bathroom/MountainDew. Biggest pain in the A$$ was Salt Lake City, they
had a flood that year and all the highways were underconstruction, they were
raising them. My average, not including sleep/nap time, was around 64mph,
and that's when the national speed limit was only 55mph.
