I was interested to see that the Nevada City Hillclimb was not listed for
the coming year. A few days ago I did notice a reference to the event from
a link I found off the NASA website http://www.racer.net/nasareno/ ... which
makes it seem as though NASA is sponsoring the event, and it is scheduled
for June 3-4 next year.

... speaking of NASA ... if there are any of you who had their whistle
whetted during the parade laps at MH99 and need more ... you have an
opportunity to drive your car at a little bit faster than 35MPH (none of us
went any faster than that did we?) on November 22, 1999 when NASA has a High
Performance Driving Event. There already are a number of Audis that will be
in attendance, so dont be shy! Call NASA at (512) 232-6272 for more info.

Finally, you may have noticed that the first event in next year's schedule
is at Northern California's Thunderhill Park. This is a fantastic venue for
drivers to learn their cars. I encourage everyone within reasonable driving
distance to think about going. While it is not a firm deal, there is some
chance that there will be an opportunity to drive some exotic cars on the
track as well. Finally, it is likely that there will be an instructors
class on the Friday before the main event. I encourage anyone who thinks
they would like to become instructors for future events to give the class
some serious consideration as well.
