Gradual failure mode for these is oil blowing back and coating the 
turbo-facing side of the wire with oil.  When you remove the sensor, 
remove the screen that is on the engine side, and run a paper towel 
across it with some soap.  Lots-o-oil.  Now, remove the other screen 
too.  In good light, look at the wire from one end, then from the 
other.  Looks nice and shiny from the airbox end, not so shiny from 
the engine end, eh?

This was the problem with the MAF that Brandon sent me to look over. 
I have some pictures of it somewhere that I dug up.  BTW, if you're 
going to throw out the sensor anyway, pop open that big plastic 
cover(remove RTV with razor blade) and check out the cool stuff 
underneath there(electronics embedded in some sort of jelly-like 
substance, very wild!)

I'm going to inspect the sensor on my car at some point soon and I'd 
like to hear about current pricing.  Arun, if you find one, let us 
know what final cost was from the vendor you picked.
