Everytime I've had wheels balanced at NTB, I've had to initial a
statement that stated that my alloy wheels would have to be
re-torqued in 50 miles. One can come back and have it done for
free, but I too just re-torque them myself.
They seem to be pretty conscientious about things. They always
use torque sticks on the impact wrench, then finish the job with a
torque wrench, and they always lay wheels down finish-side up to
prevent scratching the finish (I saw one guy spoken to for leaving
a wheel/tire standing up on its tread). They invite you to hang
around the work area and watch them work, and they have
complimentary coffee and a free telephone for your use, that is
not long-distance restricted. I get their $9.99 per tire lifetime
balancing done on tires that I did not purchase from them, but
did have them mount. They don't care how often I come back
for rebalancing.
