Re: More Heated Seat Repair Questions

Scott,

I am assuming your car is somewhat similar to my 86 4KCSQ.

..............
I did the ohm testing tonight and this is what I found: 11kohms between pins
2 and 4 (The Thermistor).
............Probably OK
1 ohm on the seat element (pins 5 & 1)
............Probably OK
and an open
on the back rest element(pins 3 & 6). I verified this on the working
passenger seat.

My question is, how do I troubleshoot the backrest ?
........... Mine separated by lifting some hooks at the bottom of the seat
back. Just recline to a position that provides good access. This was really
pretty easy. Hope yours is same as mine.
Do I need to take the
seat out of the car
...........Probably best to.

, remove the back rest from the base
............Probably not
