RE: 4KQ?CGT Questions

No, the normal CGt's just had a standard Em. 5-1. The 4kq's from 84-87
all had the same 5/3/1 design. Thats where the factory 5hp difference is
between the CGT and 4kq. Its a great upgrade for the Coupe GT.
The 5/2/1 design of the 87.5 CGT probably has similar flow
charachteristics to the 4kq unit but I suspect since the 2.3 has more
power down low but better breathing capability up high with the larger
head ports and vaslves that the 5/2/1 is optimized mroe for High RPM.
Thats just a gudess though. I think Huw Powell has run both as he bought
my 4kq unit (i have a turbo now) and I think he has also run the 5/2/1
unit. Maybe he can tell which is better or give the charachteristics of
both.
I wonder what the 90' CQ header would be like. Would the ports
even match the 4kq heads?? probably not since its not Cross Flow but with
a custom Intake maybe. Its Equal length down to the collector isn't it???
Anyone know? With a custom Intake and some Cams, this oculd be a hot
setup. Would likely build power up high but with a proper build and if
you could get the Fuel Pump RPM limiting function to go higher (say 7k RPM
or more) this could make for a fun car.
	Just thinking.
