What was the quality of the splicing? Soldered? Silver solder might make a
difference. What did you insulate it with? Heat shrink tubing? i hope it
wasn't electrical tape.

As I've been told, the splicing and length makes a difference because the
resistance can be thrown off and the voltage is very low.

Also, you have a motronic? Doesn't that have a learning curve, ie: a fault
develops, problem remedied, but computer still remembers and will continue
to for a short while.
