Re: Pistons for MC motor needed...

Mahle person I spoke to today said he finds the Mahle brand
to be better than the KS brand. He's a salesman, I know, but
he did work for KS before. I just got a piston today, so I
have a Mahle casting number and I also downloaded the CDROM
from Mahle (http://www.mahle.com) and wow! what a catalogue
it is. :) Interesting to know that all but 2 formula 1 teams
run Mahle pistons.
Have you tried http://www.kus.com/. Also http://www.kolbenschmidt.de/.

There's a offset dish in the piston crown for the MC motor.
Don't know which VW motor would use these. The Mahle catalogue
listed the 2 pistons in 81.01mm and 81.51mm and they refer
to the Audi 200 with GV motor up to 87. Seems like there's a
gap between then and the 91- 200. But from diagrams and the
piston here it seems to be the same piston with casting
number 81 P 11 +/KA.
In what way are they high performance? Lighter?

Turbo. Generation 1, with the 7.8:1 compression ratio. The GV listed
by Mahle indicates a motor with 8.6:1 CR with 147kW. Hmmm...
Europe only?
