those senders you describe are switches actually, for the warning
system.
I think you'd want to get an ex-coupe unit - that way you could see the
1.5-2 bar at idle and watch it be pegged the rest of the time (mystery
to me... 5 bar gauge on a system with a 7 bar relief spring?)
I understand vdo makes a 10 bar gauge, but it doesn't look exactly like
the ones Audi uses. sender could probably be T'd into your pressure
switches.
There are probably plenty of places you could drill and tap a hole for a
sender, too...!
