Point of view: my 91 90q20v
1) Check the bentley for alignment procedures
2) In case of no #1:
The limit switches are a pair of microswitches that are attached to the
sunroof motor. All this, on my car, is in the headliner area where the
sunroof switch is. Open it up and you'll see the motor and the switches.
My switches were working fine but the problem was the wiring from the
microswitches to the relay was a little corroded/broken. I don't plan on
using the sunroof for a while (winter, etc.) so I'll get to it next
season.
I found out by popping open the cover panel and wiggling the wires while
working the roof. Some corrosion is visible there on my microswitch
contacts.
Otherwise, Bentley has a procedure to align the microswitches and various
grooves in the motor gearing that will probably take you an hour or so to
do. Best to check your (or your neighbor's) Bentley for the full Monty.
