Re: Eurovan 2.5L available?
Was there a discussion thread, or a web site covering this engine swap? I
am still considering various engine upgrades and swaps for my 84 4000q. I
have generally decided against the MC turbo swap. I saw several at the q
club event in Portland last weekend, and it is really a nice setup, but
maybe a little too much money and/or hassle for my tastes. At the other end
of the spectrum, I am considering porting and polishing the head, adding a
cam, installing a larger throttle body, and a free flowing airbox.
Somewhere in the middle is the 2.5L or the 2.6L option. Most interesting if
this option is a fairly straightforward "bolt-in." I have discussed the
2.6L engine with Eurosport in Gilroy. But it is my impression that this
engine requires quite a different head, and there may be some tricky
airbox/throttle body mods. Also, I heard that there may be hood clearance
problems. Is any of this true? Are the 2.5L and 2.6L similar? Are they
different only in bore and stroke, or are they different blocks? Thanks.
