RE: Hydraulic pump saga finale

Alexander

Glad you are sorted, I tell you what smells worse, old gearbox or diff oil,
my garage stinks of it even though it was a couple of day's since I changed
the rear diff oil. Anyway I have now lurched to the next crisis with my
beloved car, my wife has mentioned the dreaded words that I always fear
"sell it". No way Jose!!!!!!!!

Subject:	Hydraulic pump saga finale

I gave up on my pump and remembered I had a used pump in the basement.
Although the used pump had a bent pulley. I removed the bent pulley tossed
my pump's pulley on and bingo. Good working pump, no leaking, no odd
noises. I should have just grabbed that used pump first before ordering a
reseal kit, but it was a learning experience to say the least. I ended up
using the Febi/Bilstein stuff and I actually notice a difference between the
Febi and the 11s. The Febi makes the steering feel smoother than with the
11s, but not lighter. Hard to describe but I like it! Never noticed but
Pentosin 11s stinks like shit, whole garage reaks of it. I'll take apart
the pump once I finish the door and washing the car. See what I did
wrong:-(

Thanks!
