Looking for B4 amber rear turn signals
I went to my local dealership looking for a passenger's side rear
driving light/turn signal assembly today, armed with a part number 8A0
945 218 B from the family album (European version). The guy at the
parts counter came back with a badly mangled box, but we checked out the
light and it appeared to be in perfect condition so we boxed it back up
and I coughed up the $107 for it.
I got it home and started looking at it a bit more, and I noticed that
the inside of the turn signal was amber instead of red, which is odd
because as far as I know Audi didn't offer amber rear turn signals on
any 90 series (though perhaps on pre-B4 body styles). Of course this
suits me fine, since I've always wanted amber turn signals in the back,
so after some small modifications to make the lights light up properly I
bolted it on.
Which brings me to my question, which is where can I get one just like
it for the driver's (left) side?
Some relevant part numbers:
Red left turn signal on the car: 8A0 945 095 F
Red right turn signal on the car: 8A0 948 096 F
Amber right turn signal from the dealer: 8A0 948 096 E
So I guess the Amber left turn signal is 8A0 945 095 E, but they didn't
have that one at the dealer. They also didn't have an 8A0 948 096 E at
the dealer; the box and my invoice both say 8A0 948 218 A.
Any clues on this? Or perhaps clues on where the amber light came
from? I feel a bit silly with one red turn signal and one amber one.
Thanks all
