I have a question about these lights:
I have a set of these H4+H1 setups sized to fit quad 4"x6" sealed-beam
systems. I have the H4s installed, but the H1s are still sitting on the shelf.
As the sealed-highbeams are really in need of replacement either equivalent
or with H1s now, I'm wondering: how well (useful light, distance, blinding of
oncoming traffic) would those H1s (with stock-for-Germany bulbs, whatever
wattage that is) do compared with standard halogen sealed-beam highs?
What about this odd idea: use a pair of H4s and a pair of "high-output"
sealed-low/high-beams at the same time, resulting in better (?) low beams
and somewhat reduced high beams...?
(I'm thinking that were I drive most of the time - I495 in MA between I90 and
I93 -
there's rarely enough room for high beams, while stronger low beams would be
quite useful, and with 2 separately adjustable beams, a pleasant light
pattern should be feasible, I think.)
