inner sanctum- wiring gone awry?
Finished re attaching my passenger door window when the through the glass
attachment bolt appeared to shear. Upon reassembly, the #26 fuse
blew, resulting in all guages and power mirrors inoperative. I replaced the
5amp fuse , voila! all instrments working fine.Fine that is until I
adjusted my passenger side mirror- pop goes the fuse. Figurred I musta
disturbed the
wiring from the switch to the mirror when I was justling the inner door panel
trying to get it aligned as part of the window alignment procedure. II pulled
the panel off again, was not able to see any obvious trauma so I wiggled
the wires to see if i could get lucky. Well sort of- Now I can push the
passenger mirror button and the control works only in one direction-
inward. When I push the drivers side mirror button the mirror works
properly in all direction, BUT the RIGHT SIDE mirror turns inward as
well. Not blowing #26 fuse anymore, but apparently shifted the
errant wire(s) to create an alternate symptom. Looks like Im going to
have to get into this door yet again with my Fluke and and see what s
touching what under in the appropriate harness or connector. Windows,
locks and guages are ok. Am I missing something,
like a misswired switch on the drivers door? Worked ok before and haven't
messed with that door. Anty BTDT folks ? Thanks, Mike.
