Re: 1 Rubbing Tire / Tilted car?!
I have solved it with a little help from the list and my German friend.
It is regular since the springs I bought are made for ALL Audi 80/90 4
cylinder (except 16v) models in Europe. That includes 1.6 Carb manual trans
models that weigh nothing to my car, the heaviest 4 cylinder 80 in Europe
and US. I have the added weighted of the auto transmission which is way
further to the passenger's side thatn the manual trans. I remebered that
the axle for the passenger's side is HALF the length of a regular manual
axle. That means the diff and trans sit further over, plus the exhaust
tract is different to accomodate the trans. My engine bay is EMPTY on the
driver's side. I assume that because of the extra weight of the engine, the
autobox, and the battery is causing that spring to sit 1-2mm lower than the
driver's side. This means when I take a hard corner to the left there is
more weight being rolled onto that spring, plus it is already lower before
the turn even happens. All is well! I will set that shock a bit stiffer to
keep the tire from rubbing to badly., sound goood?
Thanks!
