Airbags only last 10-11 years.  The dealer isn't pulling your leg.


We're finally getting around the time where the first airbags are 
starting to reach the service interval.  On a $1000 car, who's going 
to spend $1000+ on an airbag?  It's insane.  The airbag guys are 
probably laughing all the way to the bank and bracing themselves for 
a LOT of business.  Expect to see airbag prices skyrocket as demand 
goes up.  I can't wait until 2001 when mine expires...joy.  Not.
