S6 - Brake Pedal Travel - Better

Many of you have heard my complaints about the very long pedal brake travel
on myS6. You and others have offered advice and recommendations and I have
tried many of them. Most, however, have suggested the long pedal travel was
an unfortunate feature of the S6 and advised me to learn to live with it.

Not long ago, a technician at an Audi dealer advised me to "bleed" the brake
accumulator described the procedure. That procedure is: Pump the brakes
until the accumulator is fully depleted. Depress the brake pedal as hard as
possible and while holding it, start the engine, holding the pedal down until
the light goes out. And then do it all again. The brake pedal shudders
briefly as the accumlator builds pressure. The procedure takes only a few
minutes.

I don't know why, but to my very great astonishment, this has reduced the
pedal travel. The pedal is not as high as on a vacuum-boosted brakes system,
but still much improved over what I had before. If you have complaints about
the low pedal travel, try this.
