RE:
Hi Kevin
And greetings from England, I myself own a Coupe Q (1985) and I love it, so
I think I know how you feel about not owning one. For $500 you got a
bargain, provided it's not hiding anything nasty. Mechanically it's the same
as the Coupe Q so your experience with that will stand you in good stead. I
think in some cases parts are cheaper than over here if you know where to
go, places like Blau and The Parts Connection are favourites with US
lister's. if you good with spanners etc then a lot of the work you could do
yourself. If I could find a Coupe Q for that money I would buy it just for
sprares. No kidding I have seen only 2 yes 2 Coupe Q's since May when I
bought mine after a long search.
If you get it and need some long distance help let me know, my works mail is
iain.atkinson@etl.ericsson.se and I will back on that address next Thursday.
Happy hunting and go get yourself a bargain.
Iain

Hi list,
My name is Kevin Phillips, I used to own an Audi Coupe
Quattro in England but sold it when I moved to USA.
I find that I miss the car as much as the UK, so there
will be a change here soon.
Looked at a $500 4000Q built in 1984, it needs
Gear linkage sloppy
Rear wheel bearings growling
Fuel pump buzzing (not as loud as on my coupe
before I changed it)
Hand brake cables stuck
Some coolant leaks (temp sensor, Interior heat
valve,somewhere below rad)
Good things are
Smooth sounding engine
Sound bodywork
Seller is scared of it (back street dealer)
Any approx. ideas of parts price, availability, and
BTDT would be a great help
Also I am in Irvine,CA tomorrow, would anyone with a
URQ or 200TQ like to meet with me to talk about your
car, long term I will own one of these fine machines
Thanks Kev kevphill@yahoo.com
