ur Quattros 1985 and 1987 Electronic Dash problems
Hello, I'm new here!
I'm hoping someone out there amongst your knowlegable readers can help me.
I've been asked to look at a couple of these digital instrument clusters.
I've repaired many before, but these two have me beat.
The first is from the '85, and has the Bosch part number : 0263220009, and
is stuck in KM/h. Somehow I need to change it to MPH. Any help on this
would be gratefully received. This car was from Saudi, although I believe
was for the German market originally.
The second one from the '87 has a big problem - the main micro
(INS8050-6MHP/NI) is poofed - basically had 12V in the wrong place. Anyone
know where I could get a replacement? (the Bosch part number of this
cluster is 0263220005).
The main micro is mask programmed, and of course was specifically made and
programmed for Bosch - who tell me it's obsolete. This car was originally
for the UK market.
If anyone can help either with info, or parts (or even a complete dash -
working or not) I would be really happy. Even diagrams of the internals
would help me (although I've hand traced quite a lot)! In return, I can
usually fix these displays (for a very modest fee). The usual faults are
caused by failure of the DC-DC converter mounted on the rear of the unit.
If that's the only problem, then it translates into around
$100.00/£60.00/170.00DM plus shipping & handling to/from the UK.
If this post is inappropriate then please forgive me.
Best regards
