Fw: Oil warning light on at strange times (CGT)

I've got the same baby Rob, and she used to cry the same way. The gauge in
the console is far more my friend than the dummy lights. When the buzzer
used to go off I noticed that changing the oil delayed the reappearance of
the dreaded sound, but it did return to my annoyance. Finally changed the
sender which is the big 2" dia can looking one on the drivers side of the
block with 2 separate wires going to it, and its solved. My buddies Coupe did
the same thing, fixed it the same way. The light would only come on above
2000 rpm and go out at idle. That engine actually has an over pressure and
low press switch. I just grabbed one from the wreckers to test and it's been
working ever since. The oil pump system in that car is bullet proof so if
theres no oil under the car keep on trekking.
