Re: Monkey Lad business practices? (Re: Turbo/wastegate questions - K24, WG Spring etc.)

Here is where I have to rise to the occasion. Being one of the early testers of
3 qlcc versions, I can say that Scott has put a lot of effort into tweaking and
fine tuning. You are paying for the time and effort, his training and Audi
expertise, and his continued support of his product. Continued support you will
get from only one other tuner - and you'll pay much more.
You want cheap - do what I did the first time - buy one of Charlie's springs for
20 bucks and bypass the overboost shutdown. When your lower wastgate hose goes
south and you are impressed with the awesome power you now have, you'll discover
in a week or two you've overspun the turbo. Or worse, you get into an auto
accident and find your fuel pump doesn't shut off as you're trapped in your
vehicle...
What Scott has provided this list for FREE via his web site makes the cost of
his chips worthwhile.
If its one thing I've found after owning 4 Audis is when you go with the cheap
solutions, you generally lose. Ask the guys running TAP and Superchips chips
what they do when they have a problem. Ask Ned about the number of their
stickers he has plastered on their workbench...
