RE: New Audi addition to the fleet (and radio code HELP!)

If the radio works like the one in a 1993 S4, each of your 4 station buttons
(i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4) corresponds to, and is used to set one (1) digit of the
four digits in your security code. On the Blaupunk in the S4, code position
#1 can only be 0 or 1. The other 3 code numbers can be any digit 0 thru 9,
set by pushing the corresponding station button once for "1", twice for "2",
3 times for "3" etc. .... Nine times for "9" In your example, "1249" you
would push your fourth (4th) station selection button nine times to set the
4th security code number to "9"

The S4's radio only lets you attempt to enter the code 2 times, if you fail
the radio will "lock-up" for @ an hour. You push the FM1 + the AM buttons
simultaneously till the "SAFE" lock display begins flashing; then enter the
code. When done you set the code by again pressing the FM1 + AM station
buttons simultaneously - if you've successfully cone the code the "SAFE"
will flash, then the channel will display. The instructions WARN to
immediately release the FM1 +AM buttons once the "SAFE" display begins to
flash, and not to push the 2x till after you've entered the code.

Good luck

Subject: New Audi addition to the fleet (and radio code HELP!)

Greetings listers,
This holiday weekend my sister traded her Saab 9000S in for
a nice '93 Audi 90S... she's very pleased with the car. The
radio code is giving me fits, because although I have a code
tag with a four-digit number, the radio (stock Gamma) won't
accept it... think that 1249 can't be entered on a keypad
which goes only to 4, anyway. I don't have the supplement
which deals with radio operation... anyone out there
unlocked one of these (I'm sure...)??
Regards,
Rob
