That sounds more like a wiring problem to me.

The motor goes both directions, just has its poalrity reversed to change
L to R, and U to D.

The difference between the vertical and horizontal is the switching of a
solenoid.  If that helps you.

Oh yes, answer your question, um, probably, if there is a little (1/8"
by 1/4"?) slot under the center of your mirror, lined up right behind
the glass, I bet it is the same...
