Agreed. The point of my original post is that a well driven M3 in the rain,
ON THE TRACK, can have better lap times than even a 4ktq with similer hp to
weight.
I was at a VERY wet track day about a year ago. There were a few 4ktq's,
several modified S cars and a few modified A4's. The fastest cars on the
track were 2 lightly modified M3's and a heavily modified Eclipse. We are
not talking about a little faster we are talking almost 2 seconds a lap
faster than the next fastest Q.

AHAA. That is the key. Real world driving is worlds differant than on the
track. Those same M-3's could have easily been wasted on a windy back road.
There is a word to discribe why, confidence. It is not that the M-3's would
be any slower, it is just that they would not be able to drive at those
levels safely on the roads.
And as far as technology goes there has never been a comparison. Audi has
been light years ahead in almost every respect.
