Believe it or not but the engine in the car -- a 3.6L V8 from a '91 5-speed 
(unless you're a V8 owner, it's probably hard to recognize it as such with 
all of the plastic covers removed) -- is slightly lighter than the one it's 
replacing, thanks to the aluminum block.  If anything, the springs will have 
to be softened -- not stiffened! -- to accomodate the difference in weight.
