RE: SE-R is ?WD

I put 140K miles on an SE-R. True to form for Nissans, the engine was
bullet proof but the rest of the car started to fall apart around it. I hit
the 7500rpm redline every day I drove it and compression was still fine at
130K and it never leaked a drop of oil. Some percentage of those cars had
tranny problems. The car would pop out of 5th gear at highway speeds when
rolling off and then on the gas. This happened to mine 3 times. The first
two were under warranty but the 3rd happened at 80K and Nissan wouldn't do
anything. This kind of pissed me off considering it was a common, expensive
problem. I guess I shouldn't complain since it cost < $11k new in '91.

Mazda should buy that engine and put it in the Miata. It would be the
perfect engine for that car.
