re Hakka vs. Cooper

Well, seeing as the threat of snow is near here in central
Massachusetts, it is time to get the snows.  Every on the list seems to
recommend Hakka's.  However, are they worth the money.  A local guy I
know can get me Hakka's for around $80/tire or Cooper Weathermaster's

Not to disparage Cooper, or whoever makes their brand, but what do you know
about them?  What is the sipe count and construction?  Is the wear obtained
by using hard rubber that won't work on ice, or by adding silica, nylon,
whatever to a softer rubber?  Do you prefer driving or being a passenger on
the snow?
