Front lower control arms R+R

Narrowed the problem (thudding wobble noise/feel, poppingish noises when
stopping/starting) in the 89 90q to bushings of some sort, had the friendly
service manager at the local Audi dealership go for a drive and he confirmed
and diagnosed the control arm bushings as the culprit.

Had him work a price up if they did it, $600. Called Blauferngnugen and for
$250 got new arms (with bushings already in) and all the hardware.

Was a little leery about doing it myself, but it was OK, once you make the
mental leap to cut the old bolts off (most twisted off in two anyway)

Not too tough to take off or put back on.

Only advice is 1) Make sure you have a Sawzall with a metal cutting blade 2)
Have patience when trying to get the nuts back on the inside of the subframe
3) have a set of ramps for the final torque on the sway bar drop links and
subframe bolts (you're suppose to do this on the ground, but unless you are
Plastic man, they are much easier to reach when the car is on ramps)

Once the old ones were off, it was really easy to see that of the four
bushings, one was totally shot, two were close to being gone and one was
'OK'.

Car drives like it should now.
