Buzz - Click / Sound of a failing Clutch MC???

While driving my '86 4KCSQ, I was clutching and braking suddenly when I
heard a rattling kind of sound from the MC area. Also, the pedal failed to
return to proper position momentarily. Thought I was gonna have to lift it
with my foot as many listers have described. Pedal feel returned to fairly
normal, although I hear a buzzing / clicking at times coming from the
general area. Any BTDT?
