Re: Seat heater switch lights

James,

My switches are slightly different than described in the 20 valve website.
First getting the plastic cover off the switch the website says to pry from
the sides of the cover. On my switch it was retained on the top and bottom
of the back portion of the cover. Using small screwdrivers removed the
cover. Secondly there was no red plastic on the inside. At first I thought
that the cover had been replaced by a copper cover and unsoldered the
copper. Then after looking at it closer I would believe a transistor was
fastened to the copper plate and I stopped attempting to remove the copper
plate. Inspecting it closeer I could see that the light was removable just
as it sat. I unsoldered the old light, painted the new light with some of
my wife's finger nail polish and soldered the light in. I then slid the
cover back on and installed it into the dash.

I'm now off to Radio shack for another set of bulbs to do the passenger
side switch. Hopefully you have the style switches simular to mine as there
is no concern about the dial or any of the internal parts of the switch.

Good luck with your project next week.
