I chuckled when you posted this one, Jim, but I don't think we ever
explained its topical basis.

Last year, there was a spate of car thefts from relatively well-to-do
areas.  It seems a lot of people were going outside, starting their
BMWs or Range Rovers, and leaving the car idling while they went back
indoors for a cup of tea.  On one occasion, I believe there were seven
thefts from the same street in one morning.  Winter approaches again,
and the police have already reported finding cars idling and unattended
in driveways.
