Classic car registration rules vary from state to state, but usually apply
to vehicles 25 or more years older. The registration normally is a
one-time deal that precludes the necessity to buy new plates each year.
However, in most states, if you register the car as a classic and exempt it
from annual licensing taxes, you are limited to how much you can drive it
and for which purposes: Generally it becomes a "Sunday" drive or
show-event use only vehicle.
