[5kT] sunroof removal

Hello,

how do I remove the sunroof. It is stuck in a slightly open position. about
one inch gap on the right side of the unit. the left side is down lower. I
have the headliner removed and have access to the monting screws that have
the non edged nuts on them. I tried to use tools of satan (read: vise
grips)but all it did was turn the entire screw. I did not overtighten the
vise grips. Now I am puzzled at what to do next.
