Re: NYS Thruway AND NYS I-684 (16 Police Car Speed Trap!)

    I happened upon the grandest of all speed traps I had ever seen last
week.  While heading to a specialty parts shop to get some Redline diff
fluid last Tuesday I noticed there was a fair amount of police cars hanging
around the median on I-684 near the Katonah exit, around 4 of them.  There
is usually at least 1 or 2 cops in this particular stretch of highway at
almost all hours of the day.  I thought nothing of it but on the way back
North I decided to count how many cops there were.  I came off I-287 onto
I-684 and there was 1 cop, then another, then another...  Then it was clear
for a few miles.  I noticed a green Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan sitting in
the median with a uniformed cop inside.  I slowed considerably and when I
came around the next corner on the highway - - - 13 NYS Police cars each
with a poor soul getting a ticket! - - -  I began laughing to myself as I
passed all forms of NYS police cars, there were: Crown Vic's, Chevy
Caprice's, Chevy Blazer's, Suburban's, and even the Camaro was there.  All
the police cars were freshly washed and waxed, shiny as all hell.  I guess
if your going to get a ticket it's nice to be pulled over by a nicely taken
care of Camaro.  It was amazing to see 13 sets of flashing lights stretching
down the highway, I wish I had my camera at that time.
