all this talk of ICs has me thinking....

I picked up a copy of Corky Bell's book on turbocharging, and in the book
there is a picture of an intercooler mounted UNDER the engine lengthwise
across the engine bay.  The thought here is that you could mount a truly
HUGE intercooler in this space (I took a quick look under the 4k, and this
appears to be feasable with some clever bracketry).  Naturaly, it is best
to weld some sort of an air scoop to the bottom of the IC to provide
enough air flow, but I would think that the slightly reduced airflow from
this mounting configuration would be gained in sheer square footage?  Any
of the physics pros out there on the list care to comment?
