RE: Todd Pheneger's overheat
Dont seem to be losing any coolant. I think your car seems normal. My
car normally gives good heat, but normally most 4kq's I've ridden in at
80mph they wont give good heat int he high position if the temperature
outside is below freezing much. In Sub 0 weather, errr, Sub 0
Farenheight (SP) for our Euro listers it pumps out mildly warm air after a
while. But is fine around town. Flushes seem to help, a bit. :-)
Anyhow, new development in my problem. What does everyone think
of a partially clogged radiator. Water seems to flow through it fine but
maybe its only flowing through 1/2 of it. And the other 1/2 is
plugged. Or something like that. I guess i should go get it flow
tested. Or jsut throw in the ur-q Radiator and see if it helps any. I
spose this would cause my problems. Maybe flushing it dislodged something
(like another pebble) or some deposits that plugged part of the core. I
like this prospect better than a head gasket. I think I'll check it as
well. Comments????
Thanks

Now if the temp goes up on the gauge to just over half way then the rad fan comes on. Now like you I have no evidence of oil and water mixing together etc etc but most of the Audis I have owned the gauge goes up to three quarters before the fan cuts in. personally I am not too worried by this because like you I can't find anything really wrong. I wonder if the person who told you about the headgasket is right, are you loosing coolant?
