But do you lean on the shifter?

I recall from driving Veedubs 100 or so years ago that you could wear out
the syncros (for the gears that had them if you're old enough to know what
I mean) by resting your hand on the shift knob between shifts, which is
where half the folks I know driving trucks like to rest their right paw.
