At the risk of being glib, there IS a solution ... don't buy new cars!  
Saving money isn't the only reason why I buy older Audis; it's also because I 
can't stand having to deal with car salesman, service writers, inadquately 
trained mechanics, etc.  Perhaps I've just had bad luck with my dealership 
experiences and good luck with used cars but there's no way I will EVER buy a 
new car, even though I can afford to do so several times over.  Watching my 
parents buy a new Infiniti I-30 -- after 17 years of driving Audis, I might 
add -- only served to remind me of this vow and convince me that *all* car 
dealers are basically the same, regardless of what marques they sell.
