Had you opened Car and Driver Nov 99 issue instead of more inferior R&T,
you'd found 5 cars comparo:
Audi A8 4.2Q, BMW740iL, Jag Vanden Plas, Lexus LS400 and MB S430. Audi
showed the best acceleration 0-60 in 7.0sec and 1/4mi in 15.3@93mph. Far cry
from 8 sec, isn't it? A6 should be even faster because it is probably ligher
than A8, but I might be wrong.
