"Family album" info

Went by my local dealer this morning to order a valve cover stud. He looked
it up on a computer instead of the fiche reader.
Says me, "what's that software your using?"
Says he, "oh, that's Et-kah."
Me: "Cool. So, you get a new version, what, once every six months or once a
year?"
Him: "No, we get a new CD once a month." (!!)
Me: "Wow...I wonder what happens to all those old CD's?"
Him: "I don't know. The guy from our other store just comes up and installs
it on the hard drive and takes the CD with him."
Me: "Oh yeah? (already lusting in my heart) What's that guys name?"

He tells me. I decide I need to make a new friend. The guy also claims that
the "Et-kah" is 'more accurate than the fiche.'

What else does this tell us? Well, you don't necessarily need the actual CD
to use the program once it is installed, and you *may not* need the dongle.
I emphasize MAY NOT. Can't believe all the dealers out there need to keep
every out of date CD that they have.

...Time to contact some of my assembly language expert friends. 8-]

If I get more info, you'll get it.
