Re: 1996 A6 Tires & Splash Guards
I have heard (auto mags) that the Michelin Pilot XGT V4 and Z4 (note,
this applies to the Pilot series only, the standard XGT's, from personal
experience, stink) perform VERY well (excellent cornering grip and
response, excellent braking, and decent treadwear (UTG rating (well, as
uniform as THAT gets) of 300. I personnally intend to try them out, and I
don't really like Michelins. My 200Q came with Michelin MXV's which I
thought drove like they were made out of taffy spread on foam rubber. NO
grip, NO response, adequate braking, but GREAT treadwear. Really skittish
in the wet. The Pilot XGT's are supposed to be excellent wet or dry,
though I would expect less glowing reviews in the snow.
