2000 YOKOHAMA WINTER RALLY SERIES

The 2000 YOKOHAMA WINTER RALLY SERIES is just around the corner!
Organizers are busy finalizing plans and lots of snow is on the way. Is

your team ready?

In case somebody out there doesn't already know, the YWRS is a series
of
four all-night drivex events on the best rally roads in eastern Ontario
and
western Quebec. The instructions and timing are very simple - just come

out and have a blast. Speeds will be challenging but attainable.

For the year 2000 we will have four events on three weekends. Dates
are:

January 8 Rallye des Neiges - Hawkesbury then into Quebec

January 22 Snowy Safari Rally - Peterborough then north

February 18 Frostbite Rally - Kingston then north and west

February 19 Ontario Winter - Kingston then north and east

March 4 - Raindate (for all events)

As you can see, there are really only three weekends involved. The two

events on February 18/19 count as two separate events in the YWRS, but
the
combined events will constitute the MILLENNIUM RALLY with its own set
of
additional awards. The Millennium event will provide you with two
consecutive nights of incredible driving with a break during the day in
the
tradition of the classic Canadian Winter Rally.

Teams can enter any of the events individually and score in the event,
but
it is much better to enter the entire series for a discounted total fee
of
$239. Series entrants qualify for series awards, which include:

- YOKOHAMA travel subsidy money (up to $100 per team)

- YOKOHAMA room subsidy money (Millennium Rally - up to $75 per team -
to
qualify for this your $239 must be received by January 3, 2000 and you
must
have registered for February 18 & 19 at the Ambassador Hotel in
Kingston).

- CASTROL Syntec oil - 25 cases to be awarded at events

- SUBARU contingency awards - $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd in class each
event; $300 for 1st in class in the series (in a Subaru of course).

To score in the series competitors must be current members of an RSO or
RSQ
club.
