Here's my 2 cents.  Your car is 14 years old.  It's time for a serious
freshening (ie more than just replace what breaks), so why not replace
*all* of each item you mention - and then do the rear stuff soon?  make
it like a new car if you keep at it!

otherwise you are always feeling the next part to break between you and
the road. 

If you go nuts liek this for two or three years the car will stay really
good for quite a while, rather than keep spitting odd used clutter out 
at the roadside every few months.
