under engine intercooler...
A while ago I posted my thoughts on mounting an intercooler down low (such
as shown in this
picture: http://marcswanson.ne.mediaone.net/images/IC.jpg ).
Well, I went through the trouble of making a cardboard mockup with elmers
glue and duct tape(kinda reminds me of stuff I did in kindergarden), and
I have discovered that the oil pan makes a full length IC sit too low. My
next thought is to create 2 IC's that are half the size of the full length
one I wanted to use and ahave them sit on either side of the oil pan. As
it is, the end tanks layed out on the long side of the core puts pressure
drop at a minimum. I know Stott and perhaps others have one core sitting
on the turbo side, but I wonder how much pressure drop would be
encountered in the extra plumbing necessary to facilitate 2 IC's?
