The three wires are brown/white = ground, green/white =referance to 
ignition module, red/black = 5V referance from control unit.  The tach 
signal is supplied to the cluster from the knock sensor control unit.

Hey, I am trying to identify the three wires exiting the hall sensor on my 
CISIII 80 quattro, specifically I am trying to identify taps for the tach 
signal and the hall effect output...
