Re: Aftermarket Red Illumination Stereo?????
True, indeed. But Kenwood isn't nearly so obliging these days. I too bought a
KRC-440 in 1993- nice switchable illumination, didn't even need it in the POS
Chrysler I had at the time. (green dash lights)- I kept that radio through my
next couple of cars, then got the 5kcst with a dead Kenwood- replaced that with
a Blau in 1997.
Fast forward to this year: I was looking for a radio in the $250 range, not a
Blaupunkt, the one in the 5k had problems. Figured it would be easy to have a
radio which would match the CGT's dash. Wrong. Aside from the Blau that Gary
Erickson helpfully pointed out, there's apparently no such thing anymore, which
is why I have an Alpine (frosty green buttons!) in the Coupe now, after two
months of looking.
So, if you can find a good used Kenwood, you may be in luck. Otherwise, I think
your only option is Blaupunkt...
