Most cars this wire is Brown with a red stripe and the gauge is 20 not 18.  I 
have my audio routed through this and works great.  If you are using anything 
other than Blaupunkt though I suggest you use a relay cause you can burn the 
circuit out.  There is no fuse to prevent this.
