Broken Clutch pedal
Looks like the following post never made it to the list. I have the clutch
pedal coming from Carlsen, but I have no idea how to tackle this job.
Anybody have any time estimates, tips, tool requirements?
Thanks and Happy Holidays!

You can add me to the list. One snapped clutch pedal in the Totem Lake
Larry's Market parking lot. Victim is a late 89 200 Quattro Wagon. Clutch
travel and effort up until this point seemed fine, then, boom, the pedal is
on the floor. Consider it punishment from the Audi Gods for neglecting my
Audi -- and this list -- in favor of my syncro westfalia vanagon. ;-(-
I've searched the archives and gleaned all sorts of useful stuff (as in,
yup, this part that you don't expect to break, in actuality, does, break).
However, I'm a little short on the "how do I repair this". I'm hoping Linda
can get me the part -- though current reports from Carlsen have me a little
worried -- but where do I go from there? BTW, how much does the part go for?
I'm thinking around a $100, but who really knows. What about technique? Igor
mentioned a special tool to compress the spring. Anyone have a part number
or can you recommend a substitute?
This is not something I wanted to fix over the holidays, but, what can I
say, I can always ski some other weekend.
As always, any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
