BTW, I didn't for a moment think you held Subarus in high esteem and my note doesn't suggest that.

The rust problem, I'm reasonably sure, was caused by poor corrosion engineering. At any event, with or without rust, Subes still have no soul. You put it well when you likened them to appliances (it was you, wasn't it?). They get you there, but they just aren't much fun. Audis are vastly superior both with respect to fun and rust.
